Mamie Joeveer is a trial attorney at The Ferraro Law Firm. Prior to joining The Ferraro Law Firm, Mamie was a commercial litigator with a top 10 international global law firm advising clients in contract disputes, complex litigation, Medicaid managed care related disputes, trademark, corporate governance, and First Amendment and Media law litigation. She also gained experience in advising startups, investors and entrepreneurs from her time at a full-service boutique law firm, and criminal law experience as an Assistant Public Defender in Broward County.

During law school, Mamie was a member of FIU School of Law’s award-winning Trial team and participated in the Hon. E. Earle Zehmer Memorial Mock Trial Competition. She began her career as a U.S. Marine Corps Captain and public affairs officer. She graduated Officer’s Candidates School and The Basic School for Officer’s training in Quantico, Va. While in the Marines, she engaged in high-level operational assignments including the Pentagon during the first phase of the Iraq War, African Crisis Response Initiative in Kenya and the United Nations Mission in Haiti. She transitioned from the Marines and became a journalist, writing for the Miami Herald, Forbes, and Robb Report covering business and entertainment, and NBCUniversal in New York, where she produced a national television series. Mamie has appeared as a military and legal analyst on MSNBC.

She is currently the Chair of the Florida Bar’s Media and Communications Law Committee and serves on the Board of Directors for the Miami City Ballet.
