Erica L. Brady
Erica L. Brady serves as Of Counsel at Ferraro Law, where she focuses her practice on representing individuals in complex tax whistleblower claims. With deep knowledge of both domestic and international tax law, Ms. Brady brings a rare level of technical insight and litigation experience to cases involving the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), including whistleblower submissions filed with the IRS Whistleblower Office.
Ms. Brady earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation with honors from Georgetown University Law Center, concentrating on international corporate tax law. She received her J.D. from Chapman University School of Law in Orange, California. Her advanced education and experience enable her to navigate highly nuanced tax issues and advocate effectively for whistleblowers exposing fraud, abuse, and underreporting within the U.S. tax system.
Her domestic tax experience spans consolidated corporate returns, partnership and pass-through taxation, employment tax matters, accounting and timing issues, and the taxation of financial products, derivatives, debt instruments, intellectual property, and insurance carriers. Internationally, she has handled matters involving foreign currency transactions, transfer pricing, and offshore entity taxation.
Ms. Brady has been recognized for her thought leadership in the tax law community. She has spoken on IRS whistleblower representation at multiple American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Taxation meetings, including the May 2010 and 2011 mid-year sessions. Her article “Are Criminal Fines ‘Collected Proceeds’?” was published in the Summer 2011 edition of the ABA Section of Taxation’s NewsQuarterly, and her article “Does Tax Crime Pay (Whistleblowers)” appeared in the February 2012 edition of Taxes – The Tax Magazine.
At Ferraro Law, Ms. Brady is a key contributor to the firm’s whistleblower practice, providing elite and sophisticated representation to clients navigating complex, high-stakes tax matters.
